5 LESSONS LEARNT IN 'LEFT' EXPERIENCE!

Interestingly Hezekiah means, “Strengthened by Yahweh.’’ And the word, “Left” in the original also means, Repaired or Helped!

It was a rare honor when, Dr. Robert Cunville graciously invited me to come to Shillong this month.

In his e-mail he did mention: “—there will be someone waiting for you at Guwahati airport—the loader’s name is Ganga and your driver to Shillong is Raj—you will be staying at the Pinewood Hotel—” This was my first time to Shillong! I did not understand the word, “Loader!” And thought that I should not ‘trouble’ Dr.Cunville when the Internet can give the meaning of any word! So, happily I typed, the word, “Loader! Lot of information and Images of  came on the Net:
“A loader is a heavy equipment machine often used in construction, primarily used to load material into or onto another type of machinery.” I thought in Shillong that was a mode of transportation! In fact, sub consciously I thought Shillong was out of India!

In the plane, I was imagining myself sitting in the Loader Ganga!
When I reached  Guwahati, one young man came to receive me and took my suitcase and put me in the car! Somehow in the midst of my confusion, I asked him, “Are you Ganga?” He was surprised and said, “Yes, Sir!”! My surprise was more than his!

Let me share 5 Lessons the Lord tried to teach me in my temporarily (but positively !)“Left” Experience in Shillong (or Hezekiah Experience!):

1. The Need of Valuing Partnership.
“I always pray with joy … because of your partnership in the gospel…”
Philippians 1:4,5
2. The Power of Practicing Prayer.
“The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. ”
James 5:16
3. The Discipline of Writing Messages.
“Write down the revelation and make it plain…”
Habakkuk 2:2
4. The Manner of Overcoming Self-pity.
“I am the only one left..." The Lord said, "Go out and stand…in the presence of the Lord…"
1 Kings 19:10,11
5. The Passion of Soul Winning.
“Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere… you will save both yourself and your hearers.”
1 Timothy 4:16.
